The player finds themself in a house, later revealed to be depicting the mind of Aina. Aina has been grappling with the departure of her childhood best friend Sa-ra, and has trapped a version of Sa-ra inside her mind — unable to let her go. Through glimpses of Aina and Sa-ra’s intertwined girlhoods, the player discovers what went wrong, and how Aina might finally move on from the loss of a soulmate. Neveralways explores depression, anxiety, trauma, and LGBTQ+ themes.
